A Practice set comprise of a chanter, bag, and bellows. The Half set comprises of the same components as a Practice set, but it includes three drones (tenor, baritone, and bass) and a mainstock. Drones can easily be added to a Practice set to create a Half set. Likewise, regulators can be added to create a 3/4 set or Full set. At this current time we make Practice sets, Half sets and chanters.
Our Uilleann bagpipes are carefully handcrafted with quality materials throughout the instrument. We use L & M pipebags for our pipes, which are considered to be one of the best handsewn pipebags currently available. All keywork is hand-made in brass. We also provide elbow padding as standard on all of our bellows for added comfort while playing. Our mainstocks are made as hollow mainstocks primarily, but it can be made solid if the customer chooses.
The term Practice set or Starter set should not infer any suggestion of lesser quality than other sets. The chanter, bag, and bellows in a Practice set are the same as on a Half set, 3/4 set, and Full set. It is often recommended that one should start with the Practice set and then add drones later.
